Product Developer - Office Based
Job Purpose:
The Product Developer will oversee the end-to-end process of delivering our Private White VC and external contract customers' collections — from design development through to production handover.
Working closely with the Product Team, this role ensures smooth communication between design, suppliers, pattern cutters and sample machinists, to deliver a luxury product range to the highest quality standards.
Key accountabilities:
* Collaborate with the designer to develop and refine seasonal product ranges (for Private White and external contract customers).
* Oversee the sampling team, including lining up samples for machinists and managing sampling pattern cutter workload.
* Create and issue style dockets / costing sheets for each new development.
* Coordinate Made-to-Measure (MTM) and when needed, liaise with customers.
* Prepare CAD and line sheets for design presentation and range planning (both Private White & external contract customers).
* Source and select fabrics, trims and components to meet the customer's needs.
* Create initial specs and ensure accurate documentation is followed through the whole sampling process.
* Order raw materials for sampling.
* Manage external supplier sampling and follow styles through to production.
* Track sample development progress and ensure timelines are met.
* Ensure consistency and accuracy across all product development documentation & ranges.
* Participate in customers meetings when required.
* Take business trips when needed, this could be in the UK or abroad.
* Maintain an organized cloth library and archive.
* Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers, keeping them informed on developments.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience;
* 4–5 years' experience in the fashion product sector, ideally within luxury menswear.
* Degree in fashion (preferably production-focused).
* Proven experience in a product development role (or similar) within the fashion industry.
* Experience working with manufacturers and suppliers in the UK/Europe.
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of luxury menswear garments and market.
* Proficient in Excel, Word, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator).
* Highly organized and efficient administrator.
* Clear and effective communicator.
* Basic understanding of budgeting and invoicing.
* Excellent eye for colour and detail.
