We are seeking three enthusiastic Early Years Lecturers to join our team, offering flexible hours. As a lecturer, you will coordinate study programme delivery, including high-quality teaching, managing operational issues, exams, and timetabling, ensuring consistency across sites if needed. Inspire students through outstanding teaching that challenges them to excel.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
The following outlines the key priorities expected of this role, as directed by senior management, and is not an exhaustive list:
1. Deliver high-quality teaching according to college standards and external validating bodies. Prepare teaching materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans. Develop and implement curriculum, assess student work, monitor progress, and maintain good order, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety.
2. Manage daily course activities such as communication, problem solving, timetable adjustments, arranging cover, planning work experience, liaising with departments, and administrative tasks to ensure compliance and consistency.
3. Assist in recruitment, manage enrolment procedures, and organize induction programmes to ensure correct course placement.
4. Hold regular meetings with students to set and review SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral needs, liaising with college services as needed.
5. Monitor attendance and results, report on performance, and implement action plans to improve retention and achievement.
6. Promote English and Maths provision, monitor attendance, and support student progress in these areas.
7. Participate in meetings and events, including parent evenings and marketing activities, and coordinate these events as required.
8. Collaborate with colleagues to develop courses and participate in CPD activities, including peer observation and mentoring.
9. Assist with departmental administration, including register marking, reporting, and updating the VLE.
10. Participate in college committees and quality assurance processes, including moderation, course reviews, and SARs. Staff on SPS points 5–8 will also undertake internal verification, coordinate action plans, monitor resources, support curriculum and quality issues, and liaise with higher education institutions.
