£62,000-70,000 Salary plus Associated Benefits
The Company: An award-winning housebuilder, delivering quality new homes and sustainable communities across the UK. This is an opportunity to join one of the strongest commercial departments in the Southwest, headed up by a brilliant, recently appointed Commercial Manager. The Role: You will be leading the commercial function on 2x new build housing developments in Gloucestershire & Bristol. In practice, you’ll be responsible for things like:
* Managing sub-contractor accounts, ensuring that payments are timely and correct, and any other commercial issues are resolved.
* Producing monthly CVR reports to monitor and control project finances below the construction budget.
* Preparing and maintaining procurement schedules;
* Reviewing sub-contractor queries and general sub-contact administration
* Preparing, monitoring, and controlling risk and opportunity schedule
* Overseeing QS’s and Assistant QS’s; including training plans and appraisals
* Ensuring work packages are procured, managed, and financially controlled in a timely manner to meet construction programme.
What we are looking for:
* Good knowledge of construction
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Knowledge and experience of cost control, procurement, and commercial aspects of housebuilding.
* Good financial and numeracy management skills.
* Ability to process complex information and assess requirements readily.
* Experience using COINS operating system
Outside of these hard skills, we are looking for someone pragmatic and dependable, with a methodical way of thinking. You will champion your function, but put the company first. What’s in it for you?
