Weekends Logistics Co-Ordinator (days or night shifts available - 4 day working week!)
Location: Redditch, West Midlands
Salary info: £32,500 per annum (day shift) or £33,960 per annum (Night shift – including night shift allowance)
Job type: Full time, permanent
Hours of work: Day shift role – Friday until Monday (Fridays & Mondays – 08:00 – 16:30/ Saturdays & Sundays – 06:00 – 18:00
Night shift role - Friday to Monday nights starting at 19.00 through to 07.00am the following morning (4 day working with 1-hour unpaid break totalling 44 hours per week)
We're currently recruiting a Weekends Customer Service Co-Ordinator for a Global 3rd Party Logistics Company based in Redditch. This position involves working within the European Time Critical Technical Operations team.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, be highly organised and remain focused under pressure. You must take control of tracking of movement of goods from A to B and keep customers informed. The post holder must be in full control at all times and be able to communicate at the highest level.
You will be responsible for:
· Tracking all live shipments through GPS and managing a high volume (100+) of incoming emails
· Negotiating carrier rates and quoting any customers requests required for urgent, time critical shipments
· building positive relationships with carriers
· Keeping customers updated as to the progress of jobs
· Requesting customs clearances
· Monitoring Hypercare shipments
· Responsible for handling escalations for any issues relating to Customers or System requirements
· Calculating transit times based on the driver’s known location to ensure they’re on track and not delayed.
· Communicating with subcontractors
· Closing out shipments by obtaining POD and any other required information required and adding documents onto the system
· Ensuring paperwork is filed accurately and in a timely manner
· Liaising with Operations, Accounts and Warehouse where necessary
· Maintenance of system data and its integrity
The successful candidate will have the following key skills/personal competencies and qualifications:
· Good level of numeracy, literacy and geography (UK/EU)
· Must be able to deal with time sensitive shipments inclusive of potential line stoppages
· Sound knowledge of the Transport/Logistics and Freight forwarding industry
· Experience in a similar environment is required, preferably working with OEMs and tier 1 suppliers
· Experience in a fast-paced environment is essential
· Excellent organisation and communication skills
· Good communication skills
· Good listener with the ability to take own initiative and resolve issues
· Self-managing and good attention to detail
· Second language is an advantage
· Ability to multitask and prioritise
· Lone working experience and the ability to remain focussed under pressure
· Must be computer literate including MS Office, email, spreadsheets and databases
· 5 GCSEs or equivalent
