Job Overview

The West Sussex Family Hubs and Best Start in Life programme brings together services that support children and families from pregnancy through early childhood, ensuring every child has the foundations they need to thrive. Our priorities focus on reducing inequalities, strengthening parental and community resilience, delivering high-quality early help, and creating seamless support across health, education, and family services.

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? We're looking for a skilled monitoring, evaluation and reporting lead to drive evidence-based practice across the West Sussex Best Start Family Hubs. With a focus on our parenting programmes, PEEP Learning Together Programme and Best Start Parent forums. In this pivotal role, you'll design and oversee robust monitoring frameworks, analyse complex data, and translate insights into clear, impactful reports for partners, leadership and communities. You'll bring experience in service evaluation, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and confidence working with both quantitative and qualitative data. An ability to build collaborative relationships, communicate findings with clarity, and ensure continuous improvement is essential. Key Skills (used for shortlisting)

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of others and communicate information which may be complex and contentious.
* Able to build credible working relationships, building rapport and developing positive partnership ways of working, with a range of stakeholders.
* Sound IT skills in order to be able to use a range of systems, including data entry, analysis and reporting.
* Excellent writing skills with the ability to write and present information clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding, either verbally or in written/electronic form to a wide range of audiences.
* Ability to organise/prioritise work, co‑ordinate a variety of tasks in a clear and logical way and meet agreed deadlines that minimise the disruption to the business.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, completing shared tasks in order to deliver a service to others, Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification, or extensive experience partnership working.
* Advanced knowledge of organisational and procedural areas of working with the community, with detailed knowledge of the organisational and national policies, practices and procedures associated with the service.
* Detailed knowledge of communities, partners and stakeholders in order to effectively establish and maintain community links and represent West Sussex at appropriate committees/meetings.
* Experience of working with the local authority or other support organisations to deliver services for a targeted group.
* Experience of working in a multi‑agency environment.
* Experience of producing newsletter, briefings and training to others.
