Offer description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

The Opportunity

Romford is a key gateway between the energy of London and the development of the Essex corridor, making it an ideal location for educators who want to inspire a diverse and ambitious student population. We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a high-energy faculty. In this role, you will be responsible for equipping students with the numerical fluency and logical reasoning skills that serve as the foundation for success in the modern, data-driven economy.

-----------------------------------

The Department

* You will join a collaborative team that focuses on "Mastery Mathematics," ensuring that students build a secure understanding of core concepts before moving on to complex applications.

* The department is well-resourced with interactive whiteboards, specialized software for geometric modelling, and a dedicated suite of physical manipulatives to aid conceptual understanding.

* We follow a curriculum that emphasizes the practical utility of Mathematics, linking classroom theory to careers in London’s financial district, engineering, and the burgeoning tech sector in East London.

* We are active participants in regional competitions and offer a robust "Maths Excellence" program for high-attaining students to explore topics beyond the standard curriculum.

-----------------------------------

Core Responsibilities

1. Academic Delivery: Teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with the opportunity to contribute to A-Level Mathematics (Pure, Mechanics, and Statistics) for qualified candidates.

2. Algebraic Proficiency: Guiding students from the basics of expressions and equations to the mastery of quadratic functions, sequences, and rearrangement of complex formulae.

3. Geometric Reasoning: Leading students through the study of shape and space, including the application of Pythagoras’ Theorem, trigonometry, and circle theorems.

4. Data Handling: Training students to interpret, analyse, and present data effectively, fostering a critical understanding of probability and statistical bias.

5. Exam Preparation: Utilizing diagnostic tracking to identify gaps in knowledge and delivering targeted interventions to ensure every student is prepared for their GCSE and A-Level examinations.

-----------------------------------

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a teacher who can turn abstract numbers into tangible opportunities. Requirements include:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Engineering, or Economics).

* Instructional Clarity: The ability to model complex procedures clearly, using "Scaffolded Practice" to build student independence and confidence.

* Classroom Management: A positive and proactive approach to engagement, creating a focused environment where students are encouraged to participate and ask questions.

* Analytical Skills: A teacher who uses assessment data to refine their planning and provide high-quality, formative feedback that drives student progress.

-----------------------------------

Why Join Us?

* A school that treats Mathematics as a flagship subject, essential for student social mobility and future academic success.

* Access to specialized professional development through regional Maths Hubs, focusing on the latest research-informed teaching strategies.

* The opportunity to work in Romford—a vibrant town with exceptional transport links to Central London via the Elizabeth Line and the M25, offering a mix of urban excitement and suburban convenience.

* A supportive, professional environment that values collaborative planning and the sharing of innovative resources.
