Prospero Teaching are working with supportive schools across the Birkenhead area who are seeking full-time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for long-term roles starting in February. These roles are ideal for candidates with experience supporting children with additional needs who are passionate about making a positive impact in the classroom.
The role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including children with SEND, SEMH or learning difficulties. You may provide support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, manage behaviour and build confidence. Schools are looking for calm, patient and proactive LSAs who can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Responsibilities
7. Providing targeted 1:1 or small-group support
8. Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
9. Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery and differentiation
10. Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
11. Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
12. Maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
13. Working closely with SEND teams, pastoral staff and parents where required

The ideal candidate
18. Experience supporting children with additional needs (essential)
19. Calm, patient and confident in managing challenging behaviour
20. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
21. Reliable, proactive and committed to inclusion
22. Good understanding of safeguarding and education policies
