ANTICOAGULATION MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Job Responsibilities
* Perform near patient blood testing using point of care measuring devices, under the direction of the Anticoagulant Protocol.
* Conduct near patient testing for anticoagulant patients in clinics or domiciliary settings.
* Maintain anticoagulant kits and equipment, ensuring supplies are adequate for clinics and visits.
* Participate in NEQAS quality assurance schemes and routine equipment validation.
* Handle administrative duties such as answering calls, contacting patients via phone and email, booking appointments using DAWN software, and processing patient samples.
* Enroll patient data into the laboratory information management system.
* Collaborate with the anticoagulant team and wider healthcare professionals to ensure timely data sharing for safe and effective patient care.
* Maintain clinical and non-clinical records according to best practices.
* Follow national and local guidance on anticoagulation management.
* Participate in surveys and audits to uphold high standards of anticoagulation monitoring.

If appointed, a cost of £45.50 for an enhanced DBS check will be deducted from your first salary. You will also need to join the DBS update service and pay an annual fee of £16.
