We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide individualised support for a pupil with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support the pupil’s academic, emotional and social development, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference in a child’s life. Location: Burnley Contract: Full-time Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour About the Role Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom Support learning activities tailored to the pupil’s needs and EHCP targets Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social interaction Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning Adapt learning materials and strategies as required Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals Support with personal care if required (training provided) Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and progress reports The Ideal Candidate Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, learning difficulties) is desirable A patient, nurturing and empathetic approach Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow guidance and use initiative when appropriate Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Teaching Assistant, CACHE, SEN training) are desirable but not essential What We Offer A supportive and welcoming school environment Ongoing training and professional development The opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day Support from experienced teaching and SEN staff How to Apply Please submit your CV, outlining your relevant experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
