What You'll Be Doing
As a Test Operative, you'll be responsible for carrying out precise testing on hydraulic and mechanical assemblies in accordance with aviation standards. This includes:
* Testing of hydraulic components using designated test facilities
* Following detailed work instructions and specifications with accuracy
* Ensuring traceability is maintained throughout the test process
* Performing fault finding, strip down and repair of components
* Supporting engineering and quality teams with investigations and project work
* Carrying out self-inspections and ensuring components are ready for quality control checks
* Completing all required documentation and maintaining accurate records
* Adhering to strict health and safety and EH&S guidelines
About You:
We're looking for a detail-focused, technically skilled individual with experience in testing and assembly environments. The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working with mechanical or hydraulic components
* Ability to interpret and work from detailed drawings and documentation
* Hands-on experience testing hydraulic units (desirable)
* Electrical testing experience (an advantage)
* Proven ability to work to tight tolerances and time constraints
* Strong attention to detail and quality-first mindset
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
* Computer literacy (advantageous)
