Senior Digital Designer
Permanent, Full-time Monday-Friday (37.5 hours). Hybrid – 3 days at our Derby office, 2 days working from home.
Up to £50,000 plus benefits.
Are you a digital designer with a passion for impactful storytelling, brand‑led design and creating exceptional user experiences? We’re looking for a Senior Digital Designer to lead the delivery of high‑quality digital and print creative that elevates our brand and drives measurable results. In this role, you’ll blend hands‑on craft with digital‑first thinking to shape concepts and briefs, while transforming ideas into attractive, compelling user‑centred solutions. You’ll work across web, social, email, campaigns, print and environmental design, ensuring every asset aligns with brand standards and supports business goals.
You’ll also play a key part in evolving our creative culture: mentoring designers, promoting best practice, and contributing to the continuous improvement of tools, processes, and our digital design standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver high‑impact design across digital, print, and multi‑channel campaigns.
* Translate briefs into engaging, conversion‑focused digital experiences.
* Ensure all outputs follow brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries.
* Champion user‑centred design, accessibility, and responsive best practice.
* Collaborate with developers to ensure pixel‑perfect implementation.
* Bring innovative approaches to digital storytelling and interaction design.
* Contribute to exhibition and event design where required.
* Manage projects from brief to launch, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery.
* Maintain visibility of priorities, capacity, and deadlines across the design pipeline.
* Identify opportunities to improve digital assets based on performance data and user insights.
* Build strong relationships with freelancers, agencies and external partners.
* Mentor designers and support skill development across the team.
* Lead design reviews with a focus on user experience, accessibility and performance.
* Work closely with marketing, content, product and analytics teams to deliver creative aligned with strategic goals.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
* Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
* Strong experience designing for web and digital platforms.
* Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and accessibility standards.
* Experience designing for CMS platforms and partnering with developers.
* Excellent layout, typography and visual storytelling craft.
* Experience producing performance‑led digital assets (landing pages, paid media, email creatives).
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Highly organised, with the ability to balance hands‑on delivery and leadership responsibilities.
* Confident Mac user.
Desirable
* Experience in a fast‑paced in‑house or agency environment.
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS basics.
* Skills in motion design, animation, or video editing.
* Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. GA4).
* Experience working with or building digital design systems.
Recruitment Process
1st stage: Competency‑based MS Teams interview with our hiring team.
2nd stage: Face‑to‑face interview at our Derby office with a design brief.
