About the role
The Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking to appoint a part-time Senior Research Fellow (maternity cover) for the Survey of London on a FTE. The Survey has been part of the BSA, a vibrant, diverse and world-leading department, since, and seeks a historian with demonstrable experience of exploring and writing about the history of London and its architecture, to become an active member of its experienced team. The appointee is required to have substantial knowledge of London’s built environment and an understanding of documentary research, alongside the ability to produce written accounts of buildings to set deadlines.
1. This is a fixed-term role until 09/02/ in the first instance

The successful candidate will work primarily as a researcher and author, contributing text and engaging in other book production duties for the Survey’s current study of South-West Marylebone, due for completion this year with a view to publication in .
The main objectives are likely to be:
3. Playing a full role in documentary research, fieldwork, writing and editing for the South-West Marylebone volume
4. Picture research, acquisition of images, and commissioning drawings and other illustrations for the volume
5. Consulting and liaising closely with other partner organizations contributing to work on the volume, The Portman Estate, Historic England photographers, etc
