About the Estate
As the team continues to grow, another exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and enthusiastic Horticulturist to join the gardening team at an established private estate Southwest of Newbury. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone committed to maintaining exceptional horticultural standards within a prestigious estate setting.
The gardens are extensive and are a beautifully developed landscape, featuring recently enhanced planting schemes, mature specimen trees, formal and informal borders, lawns, hedging, water features and distinctive garden areas.
Responsibilities
* Planting, pruning, watering, weeding, lawn care, pest and disease monitoring, and general horticultural upkeep.
* Assist with seasonal planning and landscape projects.
* Communicate regularly with the Senior Gardener about priorities, materials, plant health concerns, and maintenance requirements.
* Support other areas of the estate as needed.
* Maintain high horticultural standards while adhering to health and safety procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
* RHS Level 2 qualification is essential or equivalent with practical experience in ornamental horticulture.
* Sound plant knowledge and experience caring for a wide range of plants, including containerised and glasshouse‑grown specimens.
* Experience with relevant garden machinery, horticultural power tools, and tickets is highly desirable.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Reliability, discretion, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
* Physical fitness, good time management, adaptability, and willingness to work flexibly including occasional weekend duties.
Salary & Benefits
SALARY: Circa £35,000 DOE
