If you’re looking for a fulfilling career with excellent development opportunities, this apprenticeship is the perfect place to start. This role will be field-based, covering Lisburn and surrounding areas.
Your Role
As an Apprentice Refrigeration Engineer, you will:
* Develop expertise in HVAC systems, preparing to become a fully qualified Service Technician.
* Work with cutting-edge technology while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals.
* Participate in regular training at South Eastern Regional College (SERC) - Lisburn Campus for Level 3 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
* Engage in customer site visits, shadowing qualified Technicians.
* Learn about refrigeration and air conditioning systems, fans, and air handling equipment.
* Assist in installing complete HVAC solutions, including temporary hoses, cables, and ancillaries.
* Troubleshoot and support technically challenging breakdowns, both in person and remotely.
* Work on electrical power supplies, control panels, pumps, and water hydraulics.
* Gain knowledge of digital control systems and basic Building Management Systems (BMS).
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English, Science, Maths, and ICT OR Engineering.
* A full UK driving licence.
* A keen desire to learn, ask questions, and get involved.
* Good written English skills.
* An interest in engineering, heating systems, and low-carbon technologies like heat pumps.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, confidence, and excellent communication skills.
* Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
