We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiographer to join our friendly team, to undertake a variety of plain film, dental, fluoroscopy, mobile, and theatre examinations efficiently and effectively for our patients, adhering to best practices of radiographic technique.
Working within the Radiology department at FGH provides excellent opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of imaging procedures including trauma, MSK, paediatrics, and oncology. The department is equipped with Siemens and Phillips DR rooms, Phillips DR mobiles, GE image intensifiers, and a GE fluoroscopy suite.
The department conducts a full range of investigations, including MRI, CT, US, and SPECT imaging. PACS was installed in April 2007 and updated in 2017.
This is a progressive directorate that supports CPD and role development.
This busy department carries out a full range of investigations, including A&E, outpatient, inpatient, theatre work, fluoroscopy, interventional, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radionuclide imaging.
You will undertake a wide range of imaging work including A&E, general radiography, fluoroscopy, dental radiography, and theatre procedures. This provides an ideal opportunity to develop your skills within a friendly and supportive environment.
Furness General Hospital is located near the Lake District, offering opportunities for outdoor activities. The area has many OFSTED-rated "Good" and "Outstanding" primary and secondary schools nearby.
Our services are provided across three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as community healthcare facilities including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer extensive general hospital services, including EDs, critical/coronary care units, and consultant-led services. WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre.
All three hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapy, day case, and inpatient surgical services. Community services for adults are delivered in homes, community centers, clinics, GP practices, and hospitals, aiming to help individuals remain independent and manage their health conditions with high-quality care.
