Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable law firm in Plymouth, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Solicitor with 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join their Divorce and Children Team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal advice and support to clients navigating family law issues, particularly in divorce proceedings and child-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, focusing on divorce, child custody, and related issues.
2. Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are prioritized.
3. Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, affidavits, and agreements.
4. Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and best practices in family law.
6. Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and confidence.
8. Participate in business development initiatives to expand the firm’s client base.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A qualified Solicitor with 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience in family law. Candidates outside of this PQE will also be considered.
2. Strong knowledge of divorce and children’s law, with a practical understanding of related legal processes.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with clients during challenging times.
4. Proven ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and efficiently.
5. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
