Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent
2. HPC Registration
3. Evidence of C.P.D.
Desirable criteria
4. Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
5. Occupational Health qualifications
6. Involvement in ACPOHE
Experience
Essential criteria
7. 18-24 months as a junior covering core areas
8. Worked as a physiotherapists in the N.H.S or in a system comparable to the N.H.S
9. A minimum of 12 months working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an outpatients department.
Desirable criteria
10. Experience working in an Occupational Health environment
11. Experience of working in outpatients at Band 6 level
12. Involvement in audit and service development
13. Clinical experience in Neurology
Knowledge
Essential criteria
14. Sound understanding of a broad range of musculoskeletal/orthopaedic conditions
15. Basic understanding of NSF’s Clinical Governance and their relevance to clinical situations.
16. How to critique research articles at a basic level
Skills
Essential criteria
17. Ability to assess, manage & treat musculoskeletal conditions effectively at specialist level
18. Basic diagnostic skills
19. Skills in goal setting & evaluating outcome measures
20. Reflective practitioner
21. Ability to produce clear documentation of intervention & reports
22. Ability to prioritise clinical workload
23. Effective verbal & written communication skills
24. IT literacy: Ability to use navigate and use IT systems efficiently to access and input information
