Responsibilities As a member of the Sustainability and Climate Change team, this post will support the strategic delivery of the Council’s sustainable development and climate emergency commitments and to ensure that the Council is an exemplar in these fields. The role will be responsible for leading the delivery of a clear, cohesive, and Council-wide approach to carbon management, climate data as well as delivery of actions to promote and support both Council and city-wide targets for net-zero. The post will take a leading role within specific duties, in line with the Council’s, and its partners’, strategic direction, outcomes and priorities and may be required to undertake the roles and responsibilities for other areas as required. The Individual You will have knowledge and expertise in relation to the following areas, gained within a large and complex environment: carbon management or climate change strategy; data analytics and business planning or performance. You will have experience in analysing, interpreting, managing and presenting quantitative data, experience of developing and implementing data or performance frameworks in a large and complex organisational setting. The ability to research and analyse complex issues, draw out strategic implications and develop creative and practical solutions is essential. You will have strong communications and inter-personal skills at all levels including influencing and negotiation skills with excellent Microsoft Office skills and experience in quantitative analysis. The ability to work outwith office times and travel as required is essential.
