Job Summary
As a Quality Engineer, you will assist the Quality Director in the management and control of the Quality System in line with UK CAA Part 145, EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120, & ISO 17025 and Safety Management System requirements. Your focus will be on product quality/safety, supporting quality assurance activities, conducting audits, and managing the organisation’s Quality Management System and Safety Management System. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Management of the Technical Library
o Monthly review of technical data issued by the major supported OEMs.
o Auditing of OEM technical data including CMMs, IPCs, service bulletins and service letters to ensure they remain current.
o Obtaining OEM technical data when required via review, audit or request by the workshop or Sales Team.
o Controlling technical data within the Organisation’s ERP system & technical library.
* Warranty Investigations
o Assessing the validity of units received against warranty claims based on prior handling and other factors.
o Providing the customer with the necessary information to qualify reasons for acceptance or rejection of their warranty claim.
* Auditing
o Manage the Organisation’s internal audit plan covering product, process & safety audits.
o Carry out audits against regulations & standards: CAA/EASA/FAA Part 145, EN 9110, EN 9120 & ISO 17025.
o Manage audit findings to closure with the owner of the finding/s.
o Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
o Support external audits by airworthiness authorities, certification bodies & customers.
o Manage external audit findings to closure, including liaison with the external auditor & provide evidence of effective closure.
* Corrective Actions
o Raise corrective actions required from customer feedback or nonconforming product.
o Define corrective actions in conjunction with the relevant manager.
o Manage corrective actions to closure with the owner of the action.
o Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
* Vendor Management
o Manage the approved vendors list, approving new vendors and removing underperforming ones.
o Handle nonconforming product and related corrective actions requested from the vendor.
o Manage KPIs related to vendor performance.
Position Requirements
* Certified QMS/Airworthiness auditor.
* Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) within the aviation industry.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in quality engineering or a related role.
* Previous experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC) desirable.
* Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
