Dynamic? Effective? Creative? Passionate about supporting people with a learning disability to develop their career goals, employability skills and achieve their full potential? We are looking for you!
At Unity Works, our vision is an inclusive world where people with a learning disability who want to work, can work.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to work as part of our Employment Team across London with a focus initially in working in and around the borough of Lambeth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on our Supported Internship programme, empowering interns with a learning disability to develop skills and progress to paid employment on completion of the programme.
As part of this role you will work directly with interns alongside their mentors and tutors to fulfill their career goals and build skills and experience to succeed. You will develop opportunities and job matches for interns to departments within the host business and provide coaching and guidance to interns to complete tasks while developing their employability skills to achieve their full potential.
You’ll be supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism into work, opening opportunities with employers and maximizing work experience and employment opportunities for people with a learning disability. You will partner with onsite teams, tutors and host businesses to develop the supported internship programme, support interns to learn tasks in their rotations, gain feedback and develop relationships with managers and mentors, support interns to develop their career goals and aspirations to secure paid work, provide support with applications, interviews and in‑work support, engage employers to increase awareness of the benefits of employing people with a learning disability, and negotiate reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

We provide various mental health and well‑being support options, ensuring the holistic care of our staff. From annual leave to birthdays off, pension schemes, retail and health discount schemes (such as Blue Light Care, cashback schemes, cycle2work) supporting our staff to excel in their role is crucial.
Access to a range of development and training opportunities to further progress your career.
Why You?
We are looking for people committed to improving the lives of adults with a learning disability and autistic adults using a flexible, innovative, and person‑centred approach to support people to develop a career path and gain employment.
You will have the ability to coach and work with young people to develop their skills and potential, the energy to engage with people, build productive working relationships and empower people to reach their potential, and the skill to analyse and match individual needs to jobs, thinking creatively to overcome barriers.
You will self‑motivate to work independently to meet targets and prioritize workload effectively, be proactive in establishing local labour‑market and network knowledge, and build and develop productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
