We are looking for dynamic individuals to support the Bereavement Services team in delivering high‑quality services across 11 cemeteries and 3 crematoria.
The Role Includes
* Providing support to the Head of Bereavement Services, Registrars and cemetery teams in delivering burials 364 days a year and statutory requirements.
* Working at any of the city’s cemeteries or crematoria as part of a team to provide a high quality service to the bereaved and associated agencies.
* Excavating, backfilling and preparing graves, performing grounds maintenance tasks and crematoria attendant duties.
* Working outdoors in all weather conditions; performing heavy, physical tasks.
* Deputising for the Foreperson and supporting efficient, discreet services.
* Weekend and Bank Holiday work – rotating any 5 days in 7 at Sutton New Hall or other sites.
* Peripatetic across the Birmingham area; must hold a current full driving licence.

* Adaptable – able to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
* Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
* Sensitive approach to bereaved or distressed individuals.
* Team player, enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop skills.
