The RHS Lindley Library is recruiting for a fixed term Project Archivist for 15 months funded through the National Archives’ Archives Revealed programme. The aim of the project is to improve the accessibility of our substantial collection of documents and photographs relating to the world famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which has been in existence since 1913. The postholder will document and repackage exhibitor applications and show plans supported by two volunteers. They will also be responsible for an ambitious remote volunteer programme, training and supporting volunteers to enhance documentation of digitised show catalogues and photographs of the show sent to them online. This builds on workflows and policies developed by the library for its award winning ‘Digital Dig’ project (2024 winner National Archives Volunteer Project of the Year). There will also be opportunities to contribute to public engagement activities to promote the archive and the project.
