Specialist SEN Teacher – Part‑Time (0.6 FTE), Permanent.
Location: Felixstowe, Suffolk (IP11). Easily commutable from Ipswich, Woodbridge, Colchester, Kesgrave and surrounding areas.
Start date: 1 September 2026. Interviews: 24 April 2026 (TBC).
Salary: MPR (FTE £32,916 – £45,352 / Actual £19,749 – £27,211 per annum) plus SEN allowance £2,787 per annum.
We are looking for a qualified SEN Teacher specialising in autism to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition within a nurturing, inclusive primary setting. This permanent role offers flexible part‑time hours, competitive pay, and a dedicated SEN allowance. The role is ideal for teachers who have experience supporting autistic children and learners with additional developmental or learning needs, particularly within EYFS and KS1.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver tailored learning programmes for pupils with Autism (ASC).
* Create structured, engaging lessons aligned with EHCP targets.
* Use evidence‑based SEN strategies to support communication, emotional regulation and learning.
* Work collaboratively with SEND staff, therapists and parents/carers.
* Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE.
* Proven experience teaching pupils with Autism or additional needs.
* Strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs and inclusive practice.
* A positive, patient, child‑centred approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards.
Salary and Benefits
* MPR salary (FTE £32,916 – £45,352) with actual salary £19,749 – £27,211 per annum.
