Barnet | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working
Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Duty & Assessment Team. This is a fast-paced frontline role where you will complete timely assessments, respond to safeguarding concerns, and ensure children receive the right support at the right time.
Working within a supportive team environment, you will undertake Section 47 enquiries, Child and Family Assessments, and short-term interventions, making clear, evidence-based decisions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Manage a busy duty caseload, responding to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
Complete Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales
Undertake Section 47 investigations and risk assessments
Develop clear, outcome-focused plans to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
Present cases at strategy meetings and child protection conferences
Maintain accurate and high-quality case recordings
What You’ll Need:
Social Work England Registration
Social Work Qualification
At least 3 years’ experience in children’s social care
Strong experience within Duty & Assessment / Front Door services
Confident decision-making and risk management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced statutory environment
