Gap healthcare is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Registered Manager to oversee a residential home based in Colchester, Essex. The home provides care and support for up to 8 service users with mental health conditions. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to take full operational responsibility and make a real impact. As Registered Manager you will be responsible for the safe and effective day-to-day running of the home. You will lead and motivate the care team, ensure compliance with CQC regulations and provide high-quality, individualised care for all residents. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of the residential home’s operations. Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and maintain a high standard of care at all times. Deliver personalised care and support in line with each resident’s needs and preferences. Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive culture for service users and staff. Provide effective leadership, supervision, and support to all care staff. Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of the team. Maintain accurate care records, risk assessments, and documentation. Foster strong working relationships with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies. Manage the home’s budget, occupancy, and resources to achieve financial and care targets. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and promote best safeguarding practices. Lead the home through inspections, quality audits and internal monitoring processes. Person Specification: Experience as a Registered Manager within a residential care setting. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care (or equivalent, or working towards). In-depth understanding of CQC standards, care regulations and safeguarding. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
