Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2025.
Bristol City Council’s Trading Standards Service is looking to recruit a highly motivated Officer to help tackle the sale of illegal tobacco and vapes across the City.
You will be focussing on the supply of illegal tobacco and vape products and securing compliance amongst retailers. Your duties will include test purchase operations to detect non-compliance, advising and educating businesses, taking formal action which may include seizing illicit tobacco and vapes, drafting witness statements, writing reports on your findings and assisting with preparing case files.
You will have experience of conducting criminal investigations and securing compliance via alternative enforcement methods, along with possessing the necessary skills and experience to act across a broad range of Trading Standards responsibilities.
You may be required to work outside core hours when necessary and weekend working as and when required.
