Main duties of the job
Adult critical care services are provided by the Oxford University Hospitals Trust at the John Radcliffe Hospital site (General, Neurosciences and Cardiac) and the Churchill Hospital site (General, Transplant, Haematology). This post is for a consultant to work in the General Critical Care service at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals, providing direct care of admissions, leading ward rounds and consultations on critically ill inpatients on wards and the emergency department.
The General Critical Care Service currently consists of a 26 bedded unit at the John Radcliffe site (of which 22 beds are routinely open) and an 8 bedded unit at the Churchill site. At the John Radcliffe the service is split over 2 floors - a 10 bedded floor and a second floor with 16 physical bed spaces with up to 12 in use at anytime.
