As a Band 3 Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in nurturing young children and supporting their early development in a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.

Perks and benefits: Competitive hourly pay combined with the flexibility of locum work Stable full-time hours from 8am to 5pm, supporting a healthy work-life balance Supportive team environment where your contribution is valued Opportunities to gain experience across different nursery settings Work in York, a city offering historic charm alongside modern amenities What you will do: Deliver high-quality care and educational activities in line with the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports child-led learning and development Act as a key person for allocated children, completing observations, assessments, and developmental records Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals Promote and follow safeguarding procedures, reporting concerns appropriately Support and supervise Childcare Assistants, students, and bank staff when required Maintain accurate records, registers, and nursery documentation Support daily routines including hygiene, meals, housekeeping, and health and safety responsibilities Training and development: Participate in mandatory training, safeguarding supervision, and ongoing professional development Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and parent evenings as required Work flexibly across nursery sites if needed Minimum requirements: Level 3 qualification in Childcare (essential) Experience working within an early years or nursery setting Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding principles Ability to work effectively as part of a team York provides a fantastic backdrop for both work and leisure, with its rich history, beautiful architecture, and vibrant cultural scene.
