Offer description

Looking for a brand new job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're looking for someone like you to join our amazing #TeamFod in Dunfermline on a part-time (16 hours per week) basis.

Shift patterns

Working hours for our 16‑hour post would usually be 11:00 – 11:00 (includes a sleepover), one day per week. Weekdays, weekends and public holidays will be part of your rota on a rotational basis. The sleepover part of your shift isn’t included in your contracted hours, so you will also receive an additional £100.80 for each sleepover worked.

Our team and the individual you’ll support

As a member of our small, dedicated team you’ll provide 1‑2‑1 support to a fun‑loving young man who has an amazing sense of humour in his own home. Your main aim will be supporting his day‑to‑day personal needs, including meal planning, cooking, housework, personal care and medication. As this young man enjoys an active social life within the local community, we would be looking for you to be enthusiastic about participating and supporting him with his interests including motorsports, plane spotting, the cinema, walking and day trips. One of this gentleman’s favourite things to do is visiting his local Costa where everyone knows him.

About You

For this opportunity, we’re ideally looking for someone who has experience in a caring or supportive role with the ability to work alone and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge. However, the successful candidate will undergo training on a detailed and specific support plan devised by a multi‑disciplinary team.

What we’ll need from you:

* Good communication skills
* A caring attitude and approach
* A positive approach to learning
* An understanding of the importance of following routines and guidelines
* The ability to cook
* Confidence in the use of computers

It would be great if you also have:

* A full, clean driving licence as this gentleman has his own mobility car and enjoys going out for drives.

What makes Cornerstone a great place to work

* You’ll have a meaningful job doing things that you enjoy – it often doesn’t feel like work
* Your job actually changes and improves lives – you’ll make a difference in your local community
* We have a culture of empowering our colleagues and teamwork

* We fund up to £500 towards driving lessons
* We reimburse your yearly SSSC registration fees
* Access to funded qualifications through our SQA approved, award‑winning Training Academy
* Ongoing continued professional development and career progression opportunities
* Recommend a colleague bonus scheme
* Long service awards
* Access to a 24/7 independent employee assistance helpline

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today – we can’t wait to hear from you! We are looking to fill this vacancy as soon as possible and reserve the right to close our advert early if we find a suitable candidate before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note – If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
