About The Role
Our sites are ever-demanding, complex, and in some cases operate 24 hours a day. It's vital we have a strong Engineering team to ensure our machines work optimally, allowing us to provide excellent products to our customers efficiently. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and quick troubleshooting abilities.
Shift Pattern: Mon-Thurs 18:00 - 02:30 and Fri 18:00 - 00:00
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively.
2. Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing problems, and performing repairs or coordinating with specialists as needed.
3. Carrying out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production efficiency and reduce downtime.
4. Monitoring and calibrating equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
5. Collaborating with production teams to identify process improvements and providing technical support to enhance productivity.
6. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
7. Adhering to health and safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with company policies.
8. Staying updated with industry advancements and relevant technologies.

About You
We are looking for someone who can work at pace and has:
* Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to equipment reliability.
* A good understanding of HACCP principles; an IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Assertiveness and the ability to make decisions quickly.
* A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
