We are based in the modern Riverside House offices in the heart of Rotherham, well located for public transport from South Yorkshire and commuting via the M1 and M18 motorways. * Leading on the preparation, adoption and review of the Local Plan and supplementary planning documents.
* Implementing the Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy to help deliver infrastructure to support growth.

* Conserving and improving the Borough’s heritage through the Council’s heritage at risk strategy, local heritage list and conservation area reviews.
* Supporting parish councils with developing neighbourhood plans and taking these through the legal process to adoption.
* Giving professional advice on behalf of the Council and meeting the planning policy needs of the Planning Service.
* Working with our neighbouring councils to ensure policy co-ordination at regional and sub regional level.
Experience of the Community Infrastructure Levy and infrastructure planning would be an advantage but is not essential. Some experience of managing staff would also be an advantage.
