How the role will make an impact: To lead all aspects of the sales activity and drive organic growth of the Quanex Access products across all routes to markets, from specification through to delivery through sub-contractors, main contractors, specifiers and architects. Responsibility for the creation and execution of sales strategies and plans that align to the ambitious Quanex Access Solutions strategic plan Developing, targeting and coaching the commercial team to achieve the targets and expectations set out in the sales plan. As sales director, to be an active member of the business leadership, as part of the QAS-UK management team that have full responsibility for the management of the business, with the overall objective to set the direction, to drive the pace and to engage the employees of the business in the execution of the business plan. Main Tasks & Responsibilities: Provide day to day leadership and overall strategic direction for the QAS UK brand within Quanex to ambitiously grow market share and achieve the targets set out within the strategic plan of the business. Create an efficient and effective organisational commercial team structure to optimise the customer journey and as a member of the management team, to engage all stakeholders in this goal of offering the best possible level of customer service as a positive competitive advantage in the industry. Development and execution of RTM sales plans focused on both project (specification) work and standard sales which are aligned to deliver organic growth. Understand the market landscape and develop solutions/opportunities to maximise growth for QAS UK. Provide commercial leadership and support across the QAS UK management team working collaboratively with peers and relevant stakeholders to drive sales and margin growth and ensure a seamless customer journey. Sets realistic stretch targets to drive individual performance throughout the sales organisation and holds stakeholders to account in the support and delivery of sales plans and execution. Optimises price and tender management to generate sustainable margins. Ensures that increases in input costs are recovered to maintain margin performance. Provides direction and input to the Divisional Strategic Planning process and regular ongoing reporting cycles, including monthly performance reviews, budgeting and forecasting and relevant risk/auditing topics. Develops, motivates, and nurtures a high calibre team. Understands 'what good looks like' and creates an environment in which we always seek to recruit and retain the best talent and ensure team members achieve their potential. Encourages commercial continuous improvement within the customer journey to strive for service excellence, engender retention with customers and drive growth. Builds strong relationships with customers. Champions the customer within the business ensuring customer needs are understood and met/exceeded. Develops service propositions that drive customer understanding of product specification, assembly, installation and ultimately supports retention. Creates and executes Marketing Plans that are aligned to RTM/growth plans. Drives specification selling to build and secure a healthy long-term pipeline of projects. Ensure CPD's and other influencing tools are maintained, up to date and valid in terms of certification and compliance. Key Skills: Commercially driven, tenacious, resilient, focussed on delivery with a team mentality. Experience with sub and main contractors is essential. Knowledge of contracting RTM is required alongside an understanding of the drivers for influencers, specifiers and architects. Strategic thinker with the ability to formulate plans and support/drive execution through the team. Enjoys operating at both high and detailed levels. Strong leader combined with the ability to manage effectively. Outstanding communicator and influencer. Strong track record of business development and specification sales. Ideally a background in civil engineering although not essential.
