About the Job
Senior SEO Executive
Location: Birmingham, UK (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, Wednesdays & Fridays WFH)
Salary: £30,000 - £32,500 DOE
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Sector: Digital Marketing Agency
My client is an award-winning digital marketing agency experiencing fast, sustainable growth. They're now looking to bring in a Senior SEO Executive to take full ownership of SEO strategy and performance across a portfolio of client accounts.
This is a genuinely senior, hands-on role. You'll be trusted to make decisions, set priorities, and drive results without layers of sign-off. The focus is very much on outcomes rather than activity, with plenty of autonomy to run your accounts end-to-end and do SEO properly.
This role would suit an experienced SEO who is confident owning strategy, execution, and results, and who's comfortable diagnosing issues, adjusting approach, and course-correcting when performance stalls.
SENIOR SEO EXECUTIVE ROLE:
Own SEO strategy and performance across multiple client accounts, including rankings, traffic quality, conversions, and commercial impact
Translate client commercial objectives into clear, data-led SEO strategies
Decide priorities and trade-offs based on experience, insight, and performance data, not checklists
Personally execute a significant proportion of SEO work, particularly in high-impact areas such as:
Technical SEO
On-page optimisation
SEO diagnostics
Content direction
Monitor performance, clearly explaining what's driving results (or lack of them), and adjust strategy where needed
Selectively delegate clearly defined tasks where appropriate, reviewing work for quality and alignment
Communicate clearly with clients and internal stakeholders, especially when priorities shift or performance stalls
Keep work organised and visible through project management tools and high-level reporting
Contribute to improving internal SEO processes and ways of working
SENIOR SEO EXCEUTIVE ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Proven experience owning SEO strategy and delivery across multiple client accounts (agency or similar environment)
Comfortable working with minimal day-to-day oversight and being accountable for outcomes
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret traffic, conversion, and performance data
Solid understanding of technical SEO, on-page SEO, and content-led SEO
Confident using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, GTM, Ahrefs, and crawling tools
Experience working with CMS platforms including WordPress and Shopify
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
Confident explaining and defending SEO decisions and results to clients
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Experience supporting or reviewing work produced by junior SEOs
Deeper technical SEO knowledge or a specialist interest (technical SEO, content strategy, digital PR, etc.)
Familiarity with AI-assisted SEO tools and workflows
BENEFITS:
30 days annual leave + wellbeing day + birthday off
Hybrid working (Wednesdays & Fridays WFH)
Genuine flexibility and autonomy
Occupational sick pay
Generous desk and equipment budget
