Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong interest in physical security to join us as an Embedded Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC) Analyst for a global financial sector client. Reporting to the embedded manager, you will join a 24/7 team of security specialists working around the globe providing access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, threat monitoring, and travel security support in a state-of-the-art PSOC in central London.
As a PSOC Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for physical security monitoring and, with training, disseminating mass communications concerning global events that could impact personnel and assets. You will act as a central point for escalation, coordination, and communication during crises, engaging with various business functions to address their needs, expectations and concerns. The role includes some strategic and tactical intelligence analysis and reporting, such as travel security assessments and horizon scanning.
This role requires a 6 days on / 4 days off pattern in the client’s London office, rotating between day (07:00–15:00), afternoon (15:00–23:00) and night (23:00–07:00) shifts. The PSOC operates 24/7/365; flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required by the rota is essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide continuous 24/7 monitoring and management of security operations, including CCTV feeds, access control and door alarms
* Monitor clients’ business travellers using global tracking tools to support travel security
* Provide security assistance and serve as the security concierge for employees, visitors and vendors
* Conduct routine patrols of the building and assist with escorting visitors as needed
* Assist with creation of temporary and permanent badges, ensuring appropriate access
* Respond to calls for medical assistance
* Assist first responders, and medical and law enforcement personnel as necessary
* Ensure staff, assets and access points are secured; report hazardous conditions
* Follow escalation procedures to notify management of critical incidents, unsafe conditions or technical failures
* Create accurate incident logs in dedicated case management databases
* Utilise GIS to assess risk and incidents around client assets
* Aid investigations using data from sensitive security databases
* Facilitate dissemination of information to mobilize resources to mitigate risks
Requirements
* Relevant experience or interest in physical security (guarding, military, law enforcement, private security, or related)
* Experience or interest in security policies, best practices, and procedures with a customer-service mindset
* Eagerness to learn and support PSOC operations, including following SOPs related to physical and asset security, security concierge services, securing access points and alarm response
* Good communication skills for urgent calls with patience and professionalism
* Ability to monitor news and feeds to determine impact of security events on operations
* Ability to interpret, organise and visualise data
* Excellent attention to detail
* High competency with MS Office tools
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
Nice to have
* Experience with PSOC tools and mass notification systems (e.g. Everbridge, Vismo), security platforms (e.g. Genetec, CCURE, ProWatch) and social media monitoring (e.g. Dataminr)
* Prior military or law enforcement experience
* First Aid qualification
