Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy Development:

* Lead, develop and execute BOAT International's multi-platform social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads and emerging platforms, optimising performance through data-led insights.
* Own platform-specific growth strategies, audience acquisition targets and commercial KPIs across all brand channels, with clear accountability for measurable performance outcomes.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, commercial, content, design, video and events teams to ensure cohesive brand storytelling and strategic growth.
* Create and oversee compelling, platform-specific content including static posts, carousels, Reels, Stories and video assets.
* Manage the social content calendar and oversee day-to-day brand representation across all channels.
* Adapt editorial, print and commercial content for social media, using analytics and performance data to refine campaigns and inform strategy.
* Translate data insights into actionable optimisation strategies, continuously refining content, targeting and distribution to drive audience growth and revenue impact.
* Oversee community management, including responding to comments and DMs, while maintaining the brand voice and protecting BOAT's reputation.
* Monitor social media trends, share best practices and ensure the team stays updated on platform developments and opportunities.



Luxury Event Expertise:

* Manage social media for luxury events and international boat shows, ensuring all content - including photos, videos and live updates - aligns with the premium nature of the brand and resonates with high-net-worth audiences.
* Plan and execute live editorial and sponsored coverage at major global events, including the World Superyacht Awards, Superyacht Design Festival plus international boat shows, ensuring seamless on-site operations.
* Take full ownership of onsite social strategy and execution, including pre-event planning, real-time content deployment, sponsor deliverable tracking and post-event performance reporting.
* Attend and contribute to client briefing meetings to align on sponsored social content objectives, deliverables, KPIs and timelines.
* Direct internal creative, editorial and video teams in the development of sponsored assets that fulfil client objectives while upholding BOAT International's premium editorial standards and delivering measurable commercial impact.
* Lead and manage onsite media (external photographers, videographers and freelance content creators) teams, ensuring flawless execution of strategy through agile decision-making and proactive problem-solving in fast-paced event environments. Ensure premium-quality visual output that meets both editorial and commercial standards.
* Oversee real-time content production and live coverage, ensuring all commercial sponsorship commitments are met while maximising audience engagement and brand visibility.
* Track and evaluate social media performance during and post-event, producing detailed reports with actionable insights to refine future event strategies and enhance commercial effectiveness.

Sponsorship and Paid Activations:

* Partner closely with the commercial team to develop innovative, insight-driven social media pitches.
* Play a leading role in client-facing pitch meetings, presenting strategic social concepts, performance forecasts and activation plans.
* Translate commercial briefs into strategically aligned, creative social activations that balance measurable business objectives with editorial integrity.
* Lead the execution of sponsored editorial campaigns, delivering comprehensive post-campaign reporting that clearly demonstrates ROI and performance against KPIs.
* Oversee paid social campaign planning, budget allocation, targeting strategy and performance optimisation across platforms.
* Commission content and coordinate end-to-end workflows with editorial, design, video and events teams, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, on brief and to BOAT International's premium standards.



Team Leadership:

* Act as the senior social lead within the business, setting best practices, defining workflows and ensuring operational excellence across all social activity.
* Commission content and coordinate workflows with internal stakeholders (including design and events teams), fostering collaboration and ensuring high-quality content delivery.
* Provide strategic direction, performance feedback and professional development support to BOAT's social media manager, plus freelancers when required, fostering a high-performing, commercially aware social team.
* Develop and maintain relationships with photographers, videographers and external content creators to secure high-quality visual assets for social media.

Key Requirements:

Proven Onsite Event Experience:

* Background in planning and executing social media (editorial and sponsored content) for high-profile events.
* Extensive experience managing social media teams onsite at events, with a strong ability to adapt to dynamic environments and tight deadlines.
* Demonstrated accountability for sponsor deliverables and commercial KPIs during live event coverage.

Luxury Expertise:

* Demonstrated success in managing social media for luxury events, with an understanding of the expectations and preferences of high-net-worth individuals.
* Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and luxury brands.
* Proven ability to manage brand reputation and discretion within elite, private and high-profile environments.

Social Media Strategy Expertise:

* Deep knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with a track record of developing and executing successful strategies.
* Familiarity with emerging social media trends and tools.
* Video editing skills for social media and ability to craft compelling social copy tuned to each platform.

Paid and Sponsorship Activations:

* Experience in managing paid social media campaigns and collaborating with sponsors to deliver impactful activations.
* Commercial awareness and experience in client-facing work, including attending and contributing to social media pitches.

Strong Communication Skills:

* Ability to conduct briefing meetings, present social media plans, and communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

Leadership and Team Management:

* Proven ability to lead and inspire teams (onsite and internal), ensuring collaboration and high-quality output.

Analytical Mindset:

* Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure social media performance and provide actionable insights.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret social media data and translate insights into strategy.

Summary of employee benefits

* Annual leave - Full-time benefit is 33 days per year (25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays). The Company also offers up to an additional 3 days of paid time off during the Christmas office closure period. This applies to all staff employed during the closure period regardless of their start date or if notice has been given. These days do not form part of the annual leave entitlement.
* You will also receive your birthday off or the following day each year, provided it falls on a weekday.
* Long Service Award
* The holiday year after your 5th anniversary, you will be awarded one additional day of annual leave.
* Pension You will be auto-enrolled into the pension scheme provided you meet the criteria. Standard contributions are set at 4% but the Company matches employee contributions up to 5%.
* Death in Service Whilst an employee, cover for all staff (permanent and temporary) of two times annual salary.
* Maternity pays 12 weeks at 100% of basic pay followed by 27 weeks at Statutory Maternity Pay rate, provided at least one year service.
* Paternity pays 1 week at full pay, followed by a second week at Statutory Paternity Pay rate.
* Enhanced sick pay After probation, the company will pay up to two weeks full pay per year, increasing to five weeks based on the length of service.
