Crime ParalegalSalary: CIRCA £27,000 DOE Location: LeedsThe opportunity:We are seeking a Criminal Law Paralegal for an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and expanding legal practice within their busy Leeds office. This is a permanent, full-time position suited to an ambitious legal professional looking to build a long-term career within criminal law.As a Crime Paralegal, you will work closely with experienced fee earners and solicitors, supporting a varied caseload while developing your practical legal knowledge within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will play a key role in ensuring cases progress efficiently while maintaining high standards of client care and organisation.Working within a modern, paperless office with strong IT infrastructure, you will benefit from ongoing training, mentoring and structured career development. * Provide administrative and legal support to fee earners and solicitors.
* Assist in the preparation and management of criminal case files.
* Draft letters and legal documents using the case management system.
* Complete public funding and Legal Aid applications.
* Collate, organise and redact documentation for court bundles.
* Liaise with clients, courts, local authorities, police and external experts.
* Maintain accurate file management and ensure compliance with procedures.
* Support the team in delivering high standards of client care.
* Build professional relationships with both internal colleagues and external contacts.
What are we looking for:
* Completed legal studies (LPC, BPC, SQE or equivalent)
* Relevant working experience as a paralegal.
* Demonstrable interest in Criminal Law
* Police Station Accreditation is desirable.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive approach and willingness to learn from senior team members.
