About the role
Severn Trent Services (STS) is a thriving non‑regulated business providing outstanding services in the Utilities sector across the UK. We are recruiting a Sales Director for our Aqualytix business, a market‑leading company operating in the legionella control and compliance sector. The Sales Director reports to the Managing Director and plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the company’s 2030 growth strategy, driving revenue, strengthening key client relationships and positioning Aqualytix as the partner of choice within regulated, high‑risk environments.
Key responsibilities
- Revenue Delivery & Growth
- Own and deliver ambitious sales, revenue and margin targets across the private water hygiene portfolio.
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecasting accuracy and performance rhythm in a challenging, results‑driven environment.
- Develop and execute a multi‑year sales strategy that supports annual acquisitions, enabling rapid commercial integration while protecting customer relationships and entrepreneurial strengths.
- Translate Group growth ambitions into clear go‑to‑market priorities, sector focus, pricing discipline and proposition development.
- Leadership & Coaching Culture
- Lead, coach and develop senior sales leaders and wider sales teams, role‑modeling a coaching‑led leadership style that builds capability, resilience and engagement.
- Create clarity on expectations and standards, bringing teams through stretch targets and periods of sustained pressure.
- Performance Management in Tough Conditions
- Establish and maintain a high‑performance sales culture where delivery against targets is non‑negotiable.
- Intervene decisively where performance is off‑track, holding teams to account while maintaining fairness, trust and morale.
- Customer & Market Leadership
- Build and maintain senior‑level customer relationships across key sectors, positioning the business as a trusted partner in water hygiene and compliance‑critical services.
- Use market and customer insight to inform sales strategy, acquisition integration and future growth opportunities.
- Cross‑Business Influence
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, HR and Integration teams to ensure commercial commitments are realistic, scalable and safely deliverable.
- Influence Group stakeholders and acquired business leaders to align behind shared commercial goals and ways of working.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a senior sales or commercial leadership position within B2B services, ideally across utilities‑adjacent, infrastructure, facilities or compliance‑led environments.
- Strong track record of delivering sustained revenue growth in performance‑critical settings.
- Experience operating within multi‑business or acquisition‑led environments, with the ability to integrate teams and approaches effectively.
- Coaching‑led leadership style with a focus on building and maintaining high‑performing teams.
- Credible senior influencer, confident in constructively challenging stakeholders where needed.
- Strong commercial acumen supported by effective use of data, forecasting and performance insight to drive decision‑making.
