Sales Engineer

As part of our field sales team, you’ll help strengthen customer relationships, support our growth across the UK Industrial Gases market, and promote an industry‑leading portfolio of high‑performance equipment.
Responsibilities
* Build, develop, and nurture strong customer relationships across the North West/Midlands region, working closely with the National Sales Manager and wider team to meet shared growth goals.
* Prepare clear, competitive proposals and pricing strategies to win new business and support existing customers.
* Lead product demonstrations, attend exhibitions, and contribute to successful negotiations.
* Carry out site surveys and offer accessible technical advice to both new and existing clients.
* Ensure excellent after‑sales support at every stage of the customer journey.
* Manage and motivate a network of distributors within your territory.
* Provide accurate and timely reporting on sales activity, pipeline development, market trends, and performance insights, including visit reports, lost order feedback, and budget updates.
Requirements
* Proven sales experience, ideally in capital equipment or technical products.
* Knowledge of the compressed air industry is beneficial, but not essential.
* A technical qualification or background is helpful; if you have strong sales skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide full product training.
* A full UK driving licence (this is a field‑based role with regular travel).
* Strong IT skills and confidence using CRM systems.
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage clients and collaborate with colleagues.
* Effective organisation, time management, and a proactive approach to planning and meeting targets.
