Job Title: Contract Engineer
Rate: £75,000 - £100,000 depending on experience
Length: 3-years Fix Term Contract, with Perm opportunities

Role Overview: As a Contract Engineer with this client, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing engineering and automated materials handling projects on a contractual basis. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex contractual agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Development and Negotiation: Craft detailed contracts outlining project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables.
2. Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and client expectations.
3. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Client Relationship Management: Maintain positive interactions with clients to facilitate smooth project execution and address any grievances effectively.
5. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project activities adhere to contractual agreements and industry standards. Create organized summaries of essential clauses for easy reference.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, to align project goals and ensure successful outcomes.
7. Financial Management: Monitor project budgets and ensure financial objectives are met.
8. Programme Management: Review and collaborate on Vendor and Client construction and fit-out programmes, monitoring progress, highlighting risks, and mitigating issues.
9. Change & Cost Management: Manage changes throughout the Contract period, auditing and validating claims and managing the approvals process. Process requests for performance and stage payment.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
3. Proven experience in contract engineering or a similar role.
4. Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions e.g., MF1 or NEC.
5. Ability to analyse complex technical drawings and legal documents.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
