Job Title: IT Service Desk Technician
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Predominantly On-Site)
Role Type: Full-Time | 35 Hours per Week

Technology & Risk Recruitment (TRR) is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected financial services organisation in the recruitment of an IT Service Desk Technician.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, delivering exceptional customer service, and helping to continuously improve IT services across the business.
Working as part of a collaborative IT team, you will act as the first point of contact for colleagues requiring technical assistance, providing support across desktop, hardware, software, and Microsoft technologies. The role is primarily based at the organisation's head office, with occasional travel to support regional branch locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first-line technical support via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and end-user technical issues.
* Manage incidents and service requests through the IT ticketing system.
* Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
* Provide deskside support for head office and branch-based colleagues.
* Escalate and track incidents through to successful resolution.
* Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
* Assist in identifying root causes of recurring issues and recommend improvements.
* Support compliance with internal risk management and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience within an IT Service Desk, Helpdesk, IT Support, or Desktop Support environment.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
* Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple support requests.
