To support the ongoing development of an integrated Employee Service Department that embraces technology to provide a high quality, efficient, and effective customer-focused service. To foster a team-based culture focused on professionalism, meeting customer needs, and continuous improvement. You will manage the team, including payroll processing, contribute to systems and staff development, and provide senior-level assistance across the department. You should have specialized knowledge of NHS payroll, pension, and statutory legislation, and be able to analyze and interpret complex reports.
Our Partnership brings together five NHS provider Trusts with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) in Lancashire and South Cumbria, aiming to improve health and healthcare outcomes and ensure Lancashire and South Cumbria is a great place to work. We focus on sharing skills, best practices, and standardizing processes to reduce duplication and improve quality. The creation of One LSC oversees all corporate services for the region, promoting a system-wide approach to better outcomes for patients and staff.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee the performance of a Payroll Team within the Employee Services Department.
* Plan and prioritize payroll workloads to ensure efficiency.
* Maintain current knowledge of legislation related to payroll, expenses, pension, and employment terms, including Agenda for Change, Medical and Dental, and VSM.
* Investigate and resolve complex queries and errors in the ESR system, liaising with IBM as necessary.
* Deliver services to Trust or client organizations, acting as the main point of contact.
* Assist with audit requirements.
We seek an enthusiastic, dedicated Payroll Account Manager with NHS payroll experience, capable of leading a team in a challenging environment. Proficiency in ESR, excellent communication skills, and advanced MS Office skills are essential. This role offers a senior-level opportunity to contribute significantly to service development.
Candidate Requirements
* Hold or be studying towards IPPM Diploma in Payroll Management, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent NHS payroll experience.
* Expertise in NHS Payroll Conditions, Pension Scheme, and current legislation.
* Extensive knowledge of pay-related computer systems.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Understanding of security and Health & Safety issues.
