Nottingham University Samworth Academy has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Academic Mentor.
As an Academic Mentor, you will join a warm and compassionate environment where every staff member makes a significant contribution to the experience of our students
Your Main Responsibilities Within This Role Will Be
Meet and greet pupils each morning in order to prepare pupils for the day.
Determine daily targets for each pupil in mentor group and review at the end of each day.
Communicate with attendance to ensure students are registered correctly
Logging all positive and negative interaction on the behaviour platform and liaising and inform families through phone calls and parental meetings.
Developing and maintaining positive relations with parents, fostering an open-door culture to encourage active involvement in their childrens education.
Upholding and promoting positive behaviour for learning and dealing with issues arising swiftly and effectively, liaising with the wider pastoral team where relevant.
Supporting and implementing the schools anti-bullying policy and thorough and detailed logging and follow up
To liaise with teachers and departments in relation to behaviour and learning of individuals within the mentor group.
Assist with restorative conversations between students and staff.
Commitment to CPD and willingness to develop practice
To know key information about students and their family, and to use this to support students to engage with behaviour and learning expectations.
Assisting in preparing the learning environment and the materials used therein
Supervising entry and departure of students in accordance with expectations of provision
Contribute to the reintegration reviews and planning process for each pupil in assigned mentor group
Support colleagues within the provision when required.
Maintain accurate and detailed records for each individual pupil as evidence for reviews and information sharing
Follow the whole school safeguarding policy and log on CPOMS
