We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Band 6 SCPHN qualified School Nurse to be in post from August 2025 until December 2026. You will be managed by the Clinical Manager in Public Health School Nursing and will be hosted 2 days per week at each school. This is an all year round post working in the heart of the school community whilst retaining your School Nursing clinical integrity and connection with BDCFT Community Children’s Services
This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for the right colleague willing to extend their skill set by working in partnership. The postholder will contribute to the implementation of the School Health Hub model, ensuring a comprehensive programme of support for children and families is available across Dixons Allerton Academy and Oastlers school. You will take a needs led, data driven and evidence-based approach, supporting the progression, development and potential scaling/spreading of this initiative. The role will involve liaising with NHS colleagues to ensure students and families can be seen by relevant health professionals in school and that VCSE, Children and Families Trust and Prevention and Early Help colleagues are available for families within the schools. Key to this role is the retention of data and evidence essential for final evaluation of the project to be led by the Centre for Applied Education Research.

Main duties of the job
To contribute to the development of School Nursing within a Public Health 0-19 Family Health Service which ensures the delivery of effective healthcare to a culturally diverse school aged population in Bradford and Airedale.
Contribute to the leadership of a newly formed district wide School Nursing team and being part of a wider 0-19 family health service within 4 localities consisting of 0-5 teams with members of 0-19 Prevention and Early Help Service, leading more junior colleagues, supporting and challenging practice, nurturing the development of others to ensure that the service delivered is to a safe and high quality.
Manage your own School Nursing caseload effectively acting as a role model to others within a skill mixed school nursing team, offering advice, support and guidance.
