Job Title : Project Officer Location: Herefordshire (Hybrid working – Home and remote across the County) Salary: Competitive Package Contract Type : Full-Time, contract to 31 December 2026 with the option of an extension subject to successful renewal of the BID through the 2026 Ballot, which will determine the continuation of the BID’s mandate. Reports To : Herefordshire County BID CEO Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week with a paid 30-minute break. Flexible working times available to accommodate project working About Us The Herefordshire County Business Improvement District (HCBID) is a business-led, not-for-profit company focused on enhancing the commercial and economic vitality of the tourism sector in Herefordshire by working closely with Levy Payers, Volunteer Members, local businesses and stakeholders to deliver high-impact projects, improve the trading environment, and support business growth across Herefordshire. Overview We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Officer to join our small but dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a range of projects and events that support the strategic objectives of the HCBID. This is a key role requiring experience in both project and event management, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and deliver HCBID projects in line with the Business Plan Organise and manage events that promote the local business community and drive footfall. Some of the events include but are not limited to Visit Herefordshire Tourism Conference, Herefordshire County BID Roadshows, Ballot Consultations, attending multiple networking activities to promote Visit Herefordshire and organising the Visit Herefordshire stand at customer facing events such as RHS Malvern Spring Festival, Royal Three Counties Show, Three Counties Autumn Show, Hay Festival and LakeFest. Ensure all events and projects comply with relevant health and safety and risk management policies Project managing all stages of the Visit Herefordshire Tourism Awards Take charge of the printed materials distribution. Work alongside the Business Liaison Manager to encourage BID levy payers, businesses, partners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery Work with the BID team to gain sponsorship and grant funding to support project delivery. Monitor budgets, timelines, and outcomes for projects and provide regular progress reports Evaluate the impact of projects and events, compiling data and feedback for performance analysis Work with Marketing Manager to communicate activities relating to HCBID initiatives Assist with administrative and operational duties relating to projects as required by the HCBID team Represent the HCBID at meetings, forums, and networking events when needed Success in this role will be measured by timely project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and the impact of events and initiatives. Essential Requirements Proven experience in project management and delivering successful projects on time and within budget Experience in organising public or business-focused events Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Evening and weekend work will be required to accommodate project delivery.
