Responsibilities
* Attend to breakdowns throughout the day, ensuring plant downtime is minimised.
* Execute all allocated preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and follow up with the engineering planner.
* Escalate out‑of‑hours problems following the correct procedure.
* Co‑operate with the Lead Engineer to follow up on problems and develop solutions.
* Ensure all safety regulations are met and equipment is made safe for use.
Qualifications
* A level education, ONC or HNC/D diploma or equivalent.
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in a heavy‑industry environment.
* Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics and strong fault‑finding skills.
* Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and life‑safety monitoring and control systems used in critical environments.
* Knowledge of gas burners is an advantage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

The Novelis Latchford plant in Warrington, Cheshire employs approximately 200 employees and is one of Europe’s largest aluminium beverage‑can recycling plants. It is the largest closed‑loop recycling operation for automotive aluminium rolled products in Europe.
