Due to the continued growth over the last twelve months, we are looking for a self-directed and forward-thinking accountant to work within our clients Outsourced | FD service line as an accounts compliance manager.

The successful candidate should be interested in supporting small to medium-sized privately owned businesses, through managing a portfolio of clients supported by the rest of the Outsourced | FD team.

This role offers a perfect blend of leadership and client interaction, ideal for a seasoned Accountant who thrives in a general practice setting and enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid work model.

The role:

Over the past few years, the use of outsourced finance and advisory functions has increased steadily for businesses of all sizes and industries, with a key focus on business performance and support to enable the business to achieve its goals. This effectively means delegating financial tasks and responsibilities to a third-party service provider.

Our client’s overall aim is to ease the burden of financial administration, saving their clients’ time and money, and ensuring they achieve their goals and strategic plans.

Our client stands out from their peers by taking a carefully planned, strategic approach that ensures their clients have clear, accurate and real-time financial data, allowing business owners and stakeholders, with their guidance, to make the right strategic business decisions, and achieve their growth objectives.

Key Duties:

11. Support leading and provide guidance within a small team.

12. Manage a portfolio of clients and deliver high quality accounts service, including preparing and reviewing year end accounts.

13. Plan staffing and resource for delivery assignments with the service line.

14. Ensure timely delivery of services and meet deadlines by managing workflow, billing, and delegating tasks appropriately.

15. Develop and expand on the existing and new client relationships with the key decision makers, and the wider team.

16. Maintain daily communication with clients, addressing queries and providing expert advice.

17. Manage the progress of jobs, ensure that budgets are met, address any problems that are encountered to ensure that the accounts are finished within budget and in a timely manner

18. Review of VAT returns for clients

19. Review of management accounts, management information and complimentary data, sense checking the output, removing inconsistencies, identifying trends and providing insightful commentary to clients

20. Preparation of year end accounts for some of the service line’s larger clients.

21. Review and sign off the accounts file and address any problems or queries before passing it to the Partner for review.

22. Use Xero for various accounting tasks and ensure the team is proficient in its use.

The key attributes that we will look for are:

23. Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience, with a solid background in UK accounting practices.

24. Excellent communication – both written and oral, with an ability to deal with a variety of people in different environments

25. Excellent accounts preparation skills

26. Organisational skills are essential – able to work within a team, handle pressure, manage multiple assignments without missing deadlines, but overall exceed expectations

27. Have a passion for what you do

28. Be positive and committed to the Firm and its core values in dealings with both staff and clients.

29. Be forward-thinking, innovative and overall be a part of our continued growth.

30. Experience working with MS Excel and Word and if possible, CCH accounts production and Xero

31. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

32. Salary depending upon experience and qualification – Qualified AAT, Part or fully qualified ACA or ACCA.
