Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Nursing for Older Peoples Services.
This role will provide strategic and operational leadership and develop the clinical professional nursing profession across the Trust's services for the Older Persons Division.
This post will ensure the provision of a high-quality, responsive and professional leadership/nursing service.
It will provide professional leadership/support to senior Clinicians and named supervisees within the Trust and will work with the managers and senior clinicians in the Trust to ensure robust care.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Nursing for Older Peoples Services will be working across Older Peoples Services with a focus on:
Quality improvement,
NICE guidance,
Patient Safety and Experience
Safe care
Reducing restrictive practice
Reducing Ligature Harm

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
12. RMN/RNLD
13. Educated to degree level and evidence of continued personal development
Desirable
14. Other appropriate professional post registration qualifications
15. Registered Nurse (RN1, RN5 or RNLD)
16. M level qualification in a relevant topic
Knowledge/ Experience
Essential
17. Demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge across the range of work procedures and practices including clinical professional experience at a senior level
18. Experience and ability to apply supervisor role and application of Trust Supervision Strategy
19. Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of wider patient experience agenda
20. Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the Quality Improvement agenda with specific knowledge in service improvement methodology
21. Detailed knowledge of Mental Health Act, and clinical risk management
22. Detailed knowledge mental health policy
Desirable
23. Clinical experience in a range of practice settings (Acute, Older Adult, Community, Forensic, Neurodevelopmental, Childrens)
