The role is within the specialist Rural Property Team, where you will be supporting a friendly and collaborative small team of PAs and Fee Earners and ensuring they receive an efficient and quality service. You ideally will need to be working in a Law firm or from a Chambers background, and our client is open to expertise from any legal practice area, if you have transferable skills. The client may possibly consider those from a professional services background such as Accountancy, Banking, or Insurance, and who can demonstrate a keen interest in Legal. You will be an integral part of the team where your support will be highly valued, and the Legal Administrator will need to be able to prioritise busy workloads and work to strict deadlines, and as this essential work not only involves the administration of bona vacantia assets and the role requires a commitment to accuracy, collaboration, and effective communication. The team comprises of two Partners, two Counsel, a Senior Associate, and an Associate, and the department work closely with the Accounts department to ensure efficient processing of all matters in relation to dissolved companies and intestate estates. The role is diverse and interesting and will suit candidates who are eager to develop and build upon their legal secretarial career. The firm continue to support hybrid and flexible working, and you will have full line management and colleague support to assist you in the role. If you are immediately available, or have a short notice period, this would be highly beneficial, as our client is looking for a December start for handover, but will also consider those with a 1-month notice period. As a Legal Assistant/Administrator, you will be responsible for: * Preparing important documents to assisting in the collection and payment of funds *Managing post and filing documents, both digitally in NetDocs and physically, ensures that our records are impeccable and accessible. *Communication Management - Handling telephone and email inquiries as you guide clients regarding matters related to intestate estates and dissolved companies with clarity and excellent customer service *Financial Documentation and assisting with account forms, credit slips, and third-party bills allows you to engage directly with the financial aspects, providing essential support to your colleagues *Dealing with Dissolved Company Matters where youll also have the opportunity to assist with various aspects of dissolved company cases. Whether its advising on document requirements, conducting Companies House checks, or preparing letters to former directors and shareholders, your contributions will facilitate smoother restorations and asset transfers *Your role extends to intestate estates, where youll help manage inquiries and support the preparation of standard documentation. By collaborating with your colleagues on financial spreadsheets and procedural tasks, youll ensure that each estate is administered with the utmost care and attention to detail Personal Competencies: To thrive in the role, you will require efficient communication skills and a proactive approach to handling varied workloads. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a foundational understanding of financial accounting are preferred although not essential if you are keen to learn.
