About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and compassionate Support Worker to join an established home care team supporting Sabrina, a young lady born in 2006 who lives in Warsash with her parents and twin sister. Sabrina has abrain injury, experiences anxiety and some behavioural challenges, and is supported by a team of therapists and her family.
She has a warm, caring nature and a great sense of determination. Family, friendship, and animalsespecially horses and goatsare very important to her. She enjoys hair and make-up, cooking, shopping, the cinema. Sabrina attends regular physio sessions, personal training session and equine therapy.
Your support will focus on helping Sabrina build independence, improve organisational skills, access community activities safely, enjoy her hobbies, and manage day-to-day taskswhile always promoting dignity and confidence.
There is a dog in the family home, so youll need to be comfortable around pets.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Sabrina to engage in home and community activities
Encouraging independence, routine, and organisation
Providing emotional reassurance and assisting with anxiety management strategies
Helping with cooking, shopping, and daily living tasks
Assisting with personal care while promoting independence wherever possible
Driving Sabrinas large SUV as well as using your own car when required (including for training)
Working collaboratively with family members and therapists
Experience supporting young adults with disabilities who have experienced trauma
Ability to manage and understand a variety of behavioural needs
Confident driver with your own vehicle
Comfortable driving a clients large SUV
An interest in therapy
An animal loverparticularly horses
Youll succeed in this role if you are patient, warm, understanding, and able to communicate clearly and positively. A proactive and compassionate personality is essential.
