We are looking to recruit a Bank Driver to join our team and support the activities of our Mobile Research Unit (MRU).
The post-holder will work closely with the Research Manager / MRU Lead and should have experience in dealing with the public along with excellent communication skills.
Applicants must be literate and numerate, with a good level of fitness to lift, carry, handle, and transport goods related to the MRU and its activities. Trustworthiness and reliability are essential, along with maintaining complete confidentiality regarding patients and hospital personnel.
The role involves significant driving; primary responsibilities include checking, general maintenance, and driving of the MRU across Chester, Cheshire West, and beyond as required.
Applicants should have relevant driving experience and hold a full, clean driving license.
Key duties include:
1. Safe transportation of equipment to and from the MRU.
2. Carrying out safety, general maintenance, and condition checks.
3. Contributing to risk assessments and planning for each event.
4. Recording usage and checks, and escalating issues where appropriate.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. It operates from three locations:
* The Countess of Chester Hospital: 438 beds
* Ellesmere Port Hospital: 56 beds for rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient services
* Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: community services for the local rural population
The Trust employs over 5,916 staff and provides a range of acute, emergency, primary care, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 411,000 residents in Chester, West Cheshire, Neston, and parts of Flintshire.
